The "salad"

He fought us. No way would he cut his "hockey" hair. He had such "flow."  And flow?  Is cool.

So we decided to use hockey to our advantage.

Enter James Neal, and the style called "the salad."

Can you believe the difference?  I can see his eyes!  Of course, with "the salad" comes a lot of "dressing," like gel and hair spray.  I'll take it!  Its messy, but short and I can see his whole face!

Today I begin the next chapter in my breast cancer treatment... radiation to my spine. I will have 10 rounds of radiation to my spine over the next two weeks.  We are NOT stopping chemo, (it was presented as an option to me), but Dr. Panwalkar thought we could safely proceed with tomorrow's dose.)  Although we have no idea how my body will react,  I am stepping forward in faith.  I will have my labs checked today to ensure my counts are good enough and then will go to infusion tomorrow either before or after radiation.

  4. I love long hair even on boys but my son in soccer always loved the very short cuts because of the heat and sweat. I am sure your son will love his new cut. It's the new style today.:)

  5. He had some great looking eyebrows under there! Of my 2 youngest grandsons who are brothers and about the same age as your sons...the oldest finally agreed to shorter hair a few months back, but the other is still a hold out!

Sending positive thoughts all the time, Vicky.

  6. my issue with hair is not its length, but how clean the wearer keeps it! i like the longer version better, but what's really cracking me up is the mustache!

will be praying for you the next 2 weeks, particularly that your body can tolerate all the stuff being thrown at it.

  11. Oh my GOSH, Vicky, we just went through the same thing here!!!! I was SOOOOOOOO tired of seeing that huge mop on his head but he had grown used to it. When he finally decided to go with the above haircut I was thrilled to see my son again! Now he LOVES it but, as you say, takes lots of product and actually DOING it.

It feels like you're at the starting gate with something all new. I know that probably sounds dorky but somehow something feels new........Praying for continued strength and more and more healing all the time. Love you.

I will be praying for you while I'm being infused tomorrow.
I always laugh about that word "Infused" sounds like it should be a pretty fruity mixed drink with an umbrella and pineapple or something FUN! LOL
Praying for you always and thinking of you lots,

  19. Hello Vicky! I am from Moorhead and have been reading your blog for a while now. I substitute taught yesterday in Jennie's class and saw your son and simply smiled. He is such a good kid and was fun to be around : ) Always know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

  20. He was cute both ways but love "the salad" look. My son had long hair for the longest time and I so wanted him to cut it. When all his friends went short a few years ago, he did too. It usually takes another guy for them to cut!
    Praying for your day tomorrow!
