Loon lookout...

Thank you all for your uplifting and encouraging messages on Tuesday! Chemo knocked me down a bit this round and I not only slept Tuesday evening but much of Wednesday and Wednesday night. I am playing catch up on just about everything.

We had a truly fabulous 4th of July weekend! We spent Saturday in Park Rapids at the lake with Rick's family and then Sunday we were invited down to Loon Lake and hung out for the afternoon with our "hockey" family. Thank you Connelly's for the great time!  Have I mentioned how much I love being at the lake?

I "edited" most of these photos just for fun, but they didn't really require any tweaking.  We've been on a  run of amazingly perfect summer weather and I'm soaking it all in.

I had a "good" visit with Dr. Panalkar on Tuesday.  He definitely seemed pleased with my response so far to the TDM1.  After examining the tumor site, he mentioned again he is ready to move forward with the masectomy.  He even mentioned "this week?"  But I need to explore reconstruction possibilities and plastic surgeons, so he said he will consult with Dr. Boutin, the breast surgeon and then we will proceed from there... we also don't want to interrupt my chemo schedule, so a lot is under consideration right now. I will share details when everything gets sorted out!

  2. Beautiful pictures Vicky! So happy to hear that you celebrated a wonderful July 4th surrounded by family and friends.

Sleeping is your body's way of building up more energy so you can experience more special moments like you did on July 4th.

    Hugs my friend!!!

  9. Nice shots, Vicky! You always do such a beautiful job with those. And I'm excited to hear about possible surgery to really get this cancer thing off and on its way! I would love a chance to visit when you can manage it - let me know. :)

  11. Love the pics!

Also, not sure if you have women in your support group who have had a mastectomy or not, but if you have questions or just want to chat send me an email kimkvpathotmaildotcom. I had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. I had the expanders in for 15 months before my exchange. A friend of mine had mastectomy and opted to do reconstruction after all her chemo was done. There is a really good DVD that a few survivors from Minnesota put together talking about different options, with a special segment at the end of the DVD with pics. It was a bit tough to watch emotionally, but this DVD was a blessing.
    Continued prayers to you!

  13. Oh that looks like such a beautiful place, so serene, good for the soul.

Glad you are still upbeat and things seem to be going well for you. Hope the angels have helped. Yesterday I saw some fabric that, never guess what it is - has prints on it - "Fight Like a Girl" - thought of you when I saw it. It's neat. Hang in there and God Bless you..
