be all there

There is beauty in simplicity.

Today was really simple.

And beautiful.

Some days, like when the sun shines, its all there for the taking.

You don't contemplate anything.

You just be.

Outside.

In the sun.

"All there."

Like Crosby, going air-borne, his whole body in flight through the air, retrieving his ball.

Like the boys, one shooting pucks, one throwing baseballs, both boys- their joyous and raucous laughter echoing through the open windows, long after the sun sunk below the horizon.

Like their mama-

chasing

 relishing

 reading

 bare-footing

 sun-soaking

 cherishing.

Because tomorrow?

This mama will be deeply surrendering.

Meditating.

Praying.

MRI- brain- scanning.

Opening wide-

receiving.

How can I pray for you?  Please leave a request in the comments or email me-vwestra14@gmail.com

  1. I will be praying for you. Rest in those Everlasting Arms xxx.

But if you want to shoot an arrow prayer up on my behalf, pray that I find my Amtrak station in downtown Seattle okay, that I don't miss my train. Trains in Europe now make more sense to me than here. Yikes!

Thinking of you; thanks for these lovely photos :-)

  2. I will pray for you as well Susan. Traveling alone takes a confidence and ability to maneuver in oftentimes unpredictable ways. Praying all goes smoothly and you travel as safely as possible. I'll be thinking of you!

    1. Just thinking of you at home with the horses, the dogs, the chicks, just nature all around- makes me feel peaceful and calm. Just think of me as you go about your day and the universe will hear you :) I will indeed include all of those things in my prayers!

  4. Vicky - we could use a pray to help us in Wahpeton find the missing NDSCS student Andrew Sadek... Missing kids no matter what age make my heart ache. I pray for the safe return to his parents.

  5. Praying for your day tomorrow that peace and joy be your constant companions. I am thankful you can enjoy days where the small things make you happy and you can be in the moment. A prayer for me to be in the moment as well. This Saturday my two oldest children graduate from college. We are so proud of them and their hard work. We are in the middle of a big renovation of our home and they are coming back home to live. I don't want to be caught up n details and just enjoy and celebrate their accomplishments.

  6. Hi Vicky - I will continue to pray for you. I could use a prayer for my mom. Today was her first day of chemo. She did well, but I'm scared for what is to come later this week and in the near future - nausea, vomiting, and she will likely lose her hair fairly soon. You and my mom and both strong ladies (and great writers).

    1. Oh Kristi, I'm adding her to my list and praying she gets through this week okay. They should really be able to help her with nausea- if one med doesn't work- be sure to ask for another one. And if she does vomit, she can always go in for fluids- don't be shy about calling her doctor, nurse, or infusion center- they will help your mom through! Prayers going out to her and for you too- she is lucky to have you by her side in all of this~

  7. Vicky, I have always loved spring, and yesterday, the sun was an absolute gift. I don't think anyone can possibly appreciate spring as much as those of us who lived most of our year chilled to the bone. Thanks for reminding me of its blissful loveliness. Loving you from across the river, and looking forward to what feels like a long-awaited coffee soon, I hope. XXOO and many prayers...

  9. Oh my sweet friend.
First, I LOVE the new look of your blog-the gorgeous eggs, perfect words to describe you floating over them, and now pictures of real, green grass in Minnesota. And flower buds, and Crosby flying, and even sun shining and bare-foot escapades. It sounds like a perfect day!

Wherever you are, be all there. And you were..all the sights and sounds of spring, finally!
You will be in my prayers tomorrow with the MRI. Prayers for peace knowing all is well.
Could you pray for my youngest daughter, that she would know God's peace and
    assurance. Thank you, dear friend.

    Praying and praying...and I won't stop!
    Love Linda
