Maybe its the way you share the popcorn, whispering to each other about who knows what.

Or perhaps its the way you feel safe enough to climb up on the couch and rest your hand on his shoulder, just because he'll let you.

It most certainly is the way you stretch your arms out to him and get him to pause just long enough to hold you and encourage you to practice your "da da's."

And then there is this gift. You know he is telling you he won't let you date until you are in your twenties.

It just seems that wherever I go, you are there, looking up at me and trusting.

You both walked into the Westra World at the end of September and a few weeks later you have not only found a place in our family, you have of course found a place in our hearts. For that, we are so grateful.

  1. Such wonderful candid pictures! The first two are just precious with the hand on the shoulder & actually sharing the popcorn. It's so great you are capturing this all on film...it will go by in a flash!

  2. First of all, this makes me want to be adopted into your house. :)

Secondly, how lucky is their mama to know how loved they are when she's not there? You're giving her such a gift.

  6. love the photos and the sentiment. These little girls will remember you forever. My mom kept our neighbors little boy for several years...J.D.
Before she passed away, she saw him out at lunch and John David, the attorney, became the little boy J.D. again. She was so touched that he remembered so much about their time together. You are doing a good thing Vicky
    Hugs~

  9. Alicia, so true! It is going by terribly fast and my husband has already forseen how sad I will be to see our time come to an end.

Gitz, thank you, but I am the one who feels like I've been given a gift. Its so different for me this time in that the responsibilities end at a given point and I get time to recharge for the next day :)

Bonnie, thank you, I knew I had to grab the camera quick when I saw that... its one of my faves too :)

Tainterturtles, yes they do! Part of what makes this easy for me is how well they are cared for and loved at home :)

Kaleena, you must know exactly what my days are like with the 3 little cuties you have! Hugs to you!!

Robin, I am so very glad you shared about JD! How sweet that he remembered your mom and how touched she must have been! Hugs to you :)

Beth, I of course think we are the luckiest!

Tranquility, I caught them just being themselves and that is typically very good!

Robynn, me too, Robynn... I forget not all of us have been privileged to enjoy this kind of upbringing, and it makes it all the more sweeter. Hugs to you Robynn!! Thinking of you!
