"rain of grace"

Like when your nurse calls and says...

"Dr. Panwalkar doesn't see anything worrisome for cancer in your back!"

"It looks like you have a bulging disc..."

I've never been so happy to hear I have a bulging disc!

She said "rest, take Advil, use heat or cold,  and it should heal in a few weeks time."

And then that really little voice in my head went "whew, and you get to keep your hair for awhile longer too."

“When we lay the soil of our hard lives open to the rain of grace and let joy penetrate our cracked and dry places, let joy soak into our broken skin and deep crevices, life grows. How can this not be the best thing for the world? For us?”

    1. And I worry about how to share and what to share and even when - I feel that collective "holding of breath." I know when I can exhale, all of you can too :)

  2. Wonderful!!! Good news can be just how you look at it! Today I had a colonoscopy because of problems I was having, but they didn't really find anything! yay!! I guess I thought it was funny because I couldn't stop laughing when I woke up. My dear husband recorded me...and put it on my blog--dear soul that he is :)

  9. Oh, that rain of grace!!! I'm smiling here, too, as I think of perspective. A bulging disc is sooooo painful, but perspective here makes it something to be so thankful for, doesn't it???? All day yesterday I thought of you, prayed for you, and today I get to join in a celebration of thanks!!!! Love that picture up top!!! Perfect!

  22. Hi Vicky !!!
I'm so lucky & immensely glad to visit here after a long gap (due to my busy schedule with my son's medical institute admissions) & read about your good health & courage. However you were always in my good thoughts throughout this gap & my blessings were following you on your back all along this period.

In a way how lucky we are to know that you have a treatable disc prolapse or a bulge. Do take good care of it & you shall be OK soon.

Love & Blessings to you !!
