Halloween and Vertebroplasty

Just a quick update before I dash off, yet again.

Mom was fortunate enough yesterday to see Dr. Teigen at Sanford.  One glance at her new MRI and we all clearly see where the fracture is in her spine- T7 is indeed compressed and causing her back to bow out in a pronounced curve.  No wonder she is in such pain.

Mom will be having another vertebroplasty today, to add cement to her T7 and form a cast of sorts around that fragile area.  We will be at the day surgery unit all day and hope she can go back to the facility sometime tonight.

The blessings continue to flow amongst the hard places- scattered here and there.  A sweet card with a generous gift from an anonymous person.  A Halloween gift of pure generosity and a big heart.

And a mug I use almost daily now, for coffee!  Cathy- you are awesome!

Thank you everyone for thinking of us and for all the continued prayers!

Mom and I appreciate all the good thoughts, well wishes and prayers that keep us going.

Happy Halloween!

  7. My dear Vicky,
In the midst of your very own wonderful and very full journey, God is giving you the strength to be there in such an amazing way for your Mom. Prayers are being answered again and again. I am so grateful that He is sustaining you and providing answers for her.

You, my sweet Vicky, are in my prayers moment by moment (just as Julie said).
The prayer group at my church is holding you up in prayer. My two daughters and their friends contributed to your fundraiser and are praying for you. My grandchildren are "praying for Nana's friend, Vicky." The prayer warriors on this blog and in your hometown and all over the globe are praying. You, and your Mom, are marinated in prayer. May you know His peace today. May you rely on His strength today, no matter what comes your way.

Yes, all shall be well, my friend!
Love you to the moon and back!
    Linda

  8. I was gone until last night and hadn't been able to read your updates over the last week. Wow. So much going on. I am praying today that your mom's surgery went well and that she is recovering peacefully.

Gorgeous coffee cup! Seems like coffee would just taste better in that cup.

You mentioned on my blog that Winshape seemed like Carmel - I thought the EXACT same thing while I was there. I knew you would love it!

  9. This is my 1st day reading your post, and it brought a light into my life. I sincerely hope the vertebroplasty is successful for your Mom and reduces her pain and your stress. I admire your strength dealing with everything. I am caring for my 93 year old mother who is in extreme pain because of the condition of her vertebrae. So you have given me hope that something can be done to lessen her pain. Thank you so very much. My prayers are with you and your mother.

  10. Vicky, that mug is awesome. It looks absolutely perfect for a nice, hot cup of coffee. Ah, it's the small things, isn't it? I'm really glad you've been able to find the source of your mother's pain. What a relief. Even though there are still hills to climb, at least you know what you're moving toward now. As always, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Blessings my friend!
