With the summer temps barely getting into the 70's today, we said hello to our neighborhood wading pool. Based on where Colton fits on the height line, he will be too big to swim here next summer. How can I adequately describe to you how much I have loved hanging out at this pool ever since we moved back here 5 years ago?
I love water, even itty-bitty-baby-wading-pool-water. And when I think about it, I love the itty-bitty-babies part of the equation too, which clearly I do not have anymore. I'm sensing a slow shift again. From wading pools to the deep end pools. From toddlers to gradeschoolers. From summer... well I am not ready to even think about going there yet :)
What a cool place to hang out! I can see why you'll miss it.
ReplyDeleteI love the shots of your little man in the pool. You take the prettiest pictures. :)
Hi Vicky
ReplyDeleteit was warmer than that here today and it is mid winter and I had three layers on...
yes the time goes so quickly - enjoy every stage...my last baby has been out of school over a year now and it feels like another phase for Beloved and I - quite a nice back to being a couple stage - we have come full circle...
Happy days
Our winter hasn't been much cooler that your summer (low mid 60's).
ReplyDeleteIt is sad to say good bye but you are entering a new phase and more fun will be had .. for sure.
Hi Jill, thanks :) I'm pretty blessed in the camera department and trying to learn how to use it :)
ReplyDeleteHi Delwyn, I have loved this journey with my young kids and hope to keep embracing all things yet to come, including when they fly the coop :)
Liss, so true, always more to look forward too, and yet I am always nostalgic for what has passed :)
Your photographs speak volumes....I love them so much!
ReplyDeleteYou are a great photographer!!
Enjoy every moment...kiddie pools, car pools, etc.
Hugs,
Jackie
You made me want to rush out to Wild Water today and hang out! I might have to do that next week! Those were such sweet days at the little kid pool amid sounds of "Watch me! Watch me!" I used to get tired of hearing it sometimes. Now, I feel melancholy!
ReplyDeleteBut you don't know how glad I was not to read that you were leaving the blogging world. It seems it's the season and when I read your title I couldn't click fast enough to see what was going on. How would I live without you out here?!
Jackie, you are too, too kind :) I promise I am savoring every last minute of it!
ReplyDeleteRobynn, What? Leave YOU? Why never of course, um unless you know, I HAD to... but so far so good, you are stuck with me :) It didn't occur to me that someone could read into it that way :)
I love that wading pool idea! That is the coolest thing ever!!!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about our kids growing up. Mine are almost out of the stage of going to the park-I remember when they were little and could barely climb up.
ReplyDeleteNow they bike themselves to the park just out of boredom.
I love the photos-seeing the expression of fun.
Stephanie, I could see your kids loving something just like it! Its free and within walking distance and open every day.
ReplyDeleteAmy, we haven't gone much to the park either, it used to be daily :) Sometimes I don't realize the last time is truly going to be "the last time." Thanks for coming over!
Robin, thanks for your kind words :) Especially with the weather being so cool the boys have been ready for school. But since its due to warm up hopefully we'll have a bit of summer yet to enjoy and you know we'll make the most of it!
ReplyDeleteYour son will enjoy all these pictures when he is all grown up :) You're building a treasurehouse of memories for him :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Stillness, I hope he'll get some enjoyment out of them at some point :)
ReplyDeleteAwww, your baby is growing up. Just enjoy your summer days at the wading pool and new things are ahead for you. Change and kids - never ends doesnt it? Beautiful photos too.
ReplyDeleteI love to watch the babies in the baby pool! Great pics!
