champions...

Muhammad Ali
(American Boxer and Social Activist, b.1942)

The Moorhead Bantam AA VFW North Region Champions!

We had a great weekend of hockey in Fergus Falls and the Moorhead boys will go on to play at the VFW State Tournament hosted by Moorhead at the end of March.

Rick was asked to take a photo of the hockey mom's and (a Dad, plus a Grandma) with their boys.  Do you see all the beaming faces?  We're so proud of these boys!

And this guy, obliged his mama, and even took a picture with her.

Here are their medals.

We have another big Regional tourney in Roseau next weekend.

 Onward Moorhead!

We arrived back in Moorhead just in time for Colton's last game of the season.  Colton was picked two weeks ago, as Captain of his team.  Regretfully, I didn't get my hands on a "C" to get placed on his chest.  But he was pretty honored by getting asked to perform in this role.

Even though they lost last night, 2-0, he played a good game, getting peppered with shots and making save after save.

He earned the coveted reward stick the, "solid performer," for his final game and was pretty excited despite the way their season ended.

I got a call back from Dr. Panwalkar's nurse last week.  She relayed the message from Dr. P to me, that he does not want me to have a colonoscopy.  I asked if she knew why?  But she doesn't, and offered that he will discuss it with me the next time I see him, which isn't for quite a while.

Last week is was hard for me to quiet my swirling brain. Why?  But time moves forward, and my focus has shifted to what is right in front of me, now.

~all shall be well~

My mom is holding her own.  Still not able to walk with her walker independently, or get out of bed on her own.  But she perseveres in her spirit and will to keep on.  Something about her and what it takes to be a champion- "a will stronger than your skill."

She has set the bar high.  And we're learning its not about wins and losses, in the end, its really your character that matters the most.

  3. Loved the pic of you and your Nolan! and loved hearing how well the team is doing...but i loved most..Dr. P's non-reaction...he will chat next time you see him. If there was a TRUE cause for concern..he would chat NOW! I am continueing to believe..that the uptake could be a false reading on the PET scan..and that it is nothing related to the word 'cancer' I Dont know why I believe this...but I do...it is something that doesnt need to hold your thoughts right now.... Our heavenly father has so Got this! and you ALL have a will stronger the skill!!! Plus with a little luck..maybe March will offer us some warmer weather? you being further north...hummm I want to take a lil road trip...when it gets warmer and see new places....I just may make it your way to Minnesota...and see the beautiful sunsets in person and meet those preciouse boys and your superman...but more so...I say this because Spring is comming and summer and christmas...all shall be well... prayers and much love to you beautiful lady, and your mom and those 'men' of yours!!!

    1. Yes, Peggy, so true. I always have that feeling with me "the rug got pulled out from underneath me," with my first diagnosis. I never want that blindside to come at me again… that is my human weakness for sure. HE does have this, and I somehow have to humble myself and let go of those "feelings" that somehow I have any control over this. Much love to you sweet one~

  4. I agree with Peggy Sue, if there were good reason for concern Dr. P would be talking to you right now. Trust, trust, trust in the Lord with all your heart, dear Vicky, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6) Next you must trust your doctor and I think you do, and I understand it would be nice if you could talk to him now. Our minds tend to go to the worst case scenario. Trust and BELIEVE the Lord and Dr. P know what they’re doing.
    Love, hugs and prayers always.

    1. Thank you, Nina, for that reminder. I struggle with those boundaries between "thinking" I somehow need to be doing something, when I always know resting in Him is all I really need. I just need to get out of the way of myself at times- and am grateful you all provide the encouragement for me to do just that. Thankful for your gracious words~ love and hugs to you~

    2. Oh my sweet friend,
What a perfect quote..."Champions are made from something they have deep inside
them- a desire, a vision. They have to have last minute stamina." That so describes you and your whole family. You are all fighters and doers and believers. You have
heart and stamina. And that mama of yours...the little engine that could, she is.

I am so thrilled you got to be there and get your picture taken with your handsome lad. :) He looks so much older. And sweet Colton, always a winner in my book, no matter the score o the scoreboard. Love his smile and his heart for his Mama.

And about Dr. P ...I have been holding you in prayer, knowing that if Dr. P was worried, he would be right on it. Since he is fine to wait...tears of joy and relief.
I so trust the Lord and Dr. P. What a mighty combination for well being those two are!

Sending you loves and hugs and prayers, my dear Vicky. Thanks for the card. Perfect timing. It made my day and put a huge grin on my face, after a very tough day.

      To the moon and back...Linda

    3. Thank you Eileen, and Linda,

Nolan has boldly decide to wear short hair for the first time since he was really young. I love it :) It definitely makes his face more angular and grown looking.

  10. Love the image of you and your son -

And I'm thinking Dr. P isn't worried about that right now, so just set it down and walk away from it.

Saying prayers for you and your mother - continued healing, strength, and belief in what matters. Love to you -
