Go Cobbers Go

This past Saturday we headed to the season opener for the Concordia College Cobbers. I was trying to explain my ties to the school. We could call this six degrees of Concordia.

Rick and I are both alumni of the school. Rick is curently doing some sports photography for the college. We both went to college with the head football coach whose son is a friend of our sons. I also have two (second) cousins that are vying for playing positions on the football team. I grew up watching up these cousin's dads, my first cousins playing for this team. My mom has also worked at the school for over 30 years now. Our ties to this school are endless. And now, the greatest irony to me is that so many of my neighbors have a tie to the school as well. So we gather our kids and blankets and head to the hill on the end of the field. Our kids all play together and we gather and cheer on our team.

I enjoyed the use of Rick's camera and while realizing I wasn't feeling well, made the most out of a sunny afternoon and some good football! Go Cobbers!

  3. I also like the one of the young girl and the football players colliding in mid air. College Football is big in America isn't it. We have nothing like it here as far a school sports go.

However in just a few weeks our footy season is over and the fight for the holy grail (the grand final cup) takes place. Praying my team do well they have only ever one grand final before I was even born. So you must barrack for the SAINTS for me to help them win!

  5. Great photos, Vicky! Guys are too funny. Most couldn't care LESS who photographed them doing whatEVER. And maybe the wackier the better.

I sure hope you're recovering and it didn't sweep the family. TWM is in the living room right now sacked out on the couch with a stomach flu. Hope it's short-lived! (Oh yeah, and non-contagious!)
