trying to catch my breath

"I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart: I am, I am, I am."

Sylvia Plath

And I would add… sick.  I am… sick.

Maybe it was all the hockey cheering?  The cold ice rink that I faithfully sat at for 3 days?  The stress of moving mom?  The germ fest you expose yourself to any time you go out in public.  Single parenting while Superman left for Idaho? All of the above?

Thanks to all who have been my "angels in waiting."

Thanks to my father-in-law for stepping in when he needed to- kindly and graciously as always.

Be well friends.  I will return soon.

You can find me somewhere between the bed and the… bed.

  2. I'm not sure if you are checking back here. Hopefully you are resting. When you do come to read, know that my heart is aching for your situation and it makes me want to kick my ownself in the rear that my home is across the ocean from your home. I wish my home was across the street from your home.

I make the best Chicken Noodle Soup. I'm just sayin'. No brag, just fact. I also enjoy doing laundry. I would be on your doorstep, trying to do something. Instead I am reading and listening and hoping that you will feel better very soon. Lord, send your ministering angels to Vicky, and also bless the people that ARE near her, who are your helping hands. Bless them for their generosity.

And I pray your hubby is safely home very soon. Bless your heart. Mean it.

  8. It breaks my heart to hear and see you so compromised with this. It is amazing how cyberspace brings people together so that there is genuine concern and affection for people whom we have never met in the "real" world. So, prayers and love from a devoted blog friend.

  11. Oh, Vicky.....I'm so, so you have contracted this. God love you. Truly. Love and surround you and get you through quickly. Don't know if you have anyone in your area who sells doTerra or Young Living Essential oils but when I got my last chest thing that was so bad, I gave up on the meds and used a drop of oregano and a drop of melaleuca in a gel cap - with coconut oil - every day. They have anti-fungal, antibiotic, and anti-viral properties. In two days I was significantly better. I can't take most antibiotics so this will now be my go-to therapy. Interestingly, it also got rid of a spot on my neck I was about to see the dermatologist about and a plantar's wart on my heel that I've had for - not kidding - 40 years - went away. Uh, yeah. I was pretty dumbfounded. Just wanted to share not as ANY advertisement but as a possible alternative medicine. My experience may not be everyone's experience and I'm no doctor but I'd feel negligent if didn't tell you. If you want to try anything like this, you may have a distributor nearby who can get it to you fast. If not, you can order from my site and they ship really quickly. I have a store front website with doTerra at www.mydoterra.com/robynnreilly/

And this was on the "Oil it Up With Pure Essential Oils" Facebook page this morning:

This came from my friend Romi Clark and this is awesome!
"From an IPC (Independent Product Consultant) in Nebraska: I took my husband and 4 year old into the clinic today with congestion, runny noses etc. They tested positive for influenza A. Get Ready for this exciting news.......the nurse practitioner said..."I have been following your oil stuff on Facebook. I just got back from NP conference and we talked about oils and alternative healthcare..there is a revolution coming..keep doing what you are doing and bring me information so I can send patients to you!!!" She said..."you guys are on the right track...keep it up..this is going to be a movement." Thank You God!!!!This NP mentored me in my internship when I was in RN school. I have never personally shared any oil information with her although we are facebook friends...I am so glad I put post things on my FB page about oils. It was that goosebump moment that you realize that what you are doing is purposeful and so nice to know that people do pay attention to what you post!"

So, hope that isn't info overload but I want to do SOMEthing that may help you. But no matter what you do, know that I'm praying for you to have comfort, healing, relief, and a hubby that gets home soon. Oh - ALSO - just forgot - I started using the doTerra Essential Oils throat lozenges with On Guard in them. Very helpful for fighting stuff off when you have to go out in public and soothing when I was sick and discovered them. I'm still new to this as well.

Love you, friend, and it hurts me to see you so afflicted in that video but I was glad to see you at all.

  12. Should add a disclaimer that you already know: I am not a doctor and this is not intended as medical advice. Just a sharing of my own experience.

  14. Vicky, we are praying, I am praying, armies of women and readers alike are praying! Boot this thing in the butt. We love you, dear girl. I'm trusting that there are angels moving around you, we can not see, and things we can not understand are happening. Praying you are held tightly in His arms. God has you all -- wishing there was more I could do. Lots of love.

  16. Rest your voice and your lungs; the bronchitis will pass.... Just not soon enough for me or for you.
It is always lovely to see a video of you. I thank you for sharing yourself with those of us who love you.
Take good care of you, my sweet friend.
Love and warm hugs to you,
    Jackie

  17. So sorry to hear (literally) how sick you are Vicky.

Just rest. Grace yourself with your own loving, compassionate presence, and continue to repeat I AM. Just I AM. (When saying it for yourself do not add any other words such as 'sick'.) Reinforce your beingness and your right to be. The wonderful thing about such a practice is that you can do it in bed, you can do it when you have no energy, you can claim your beingness no matter where you are or how you feel.

May all the sweet folks who have been looking out for you and your family be there for you now with help, meals for the family and LOVE.

Wrapping you in a loving virtual embrace.

  18. Oh my sweet friend,
It was wonderful to see you and hear your actual voice. Yet, I am so sad you are ill. It sound like you have the same bug we have been fighting here. A yucky respiratory bug with a bad cough. Know that we are holding you in our healing prayers and asking God to minister to you...BIG TIME!

I so wish I was closer so I could help in person, but I know your in-person angels have your back. You are dearly loved, precious friend. Dearly loved! Rest and all shall be well!

Love you to the moon and back!
    Linda

  20. What I loved??? meeting you in real time..your video!!! why? because well..you were you...just as I feel you or preceived you to be...accept NOT feeling well at all. I came on here..so confused...what I posted was on the latest blog post, or so I thought...but it wasn't..how did that happen.... 'The Lord works in mysterious ways" I thought for a minute I was going bonkers. I felt something was up...for the past few days... ( I know sounds out there) finding you in your Bed...or bed... Perfect. The body needs rest to get through this. Oh pretty lady...the best of us, would come crashing down with this..the cold weather, your go go go...attitude...all you said above, hockey games, moving your mom...and your still post surgery and on and on and on...I think your super man...found wonder woman!!! Know this is a "normal sickness" you are having..nothing to do with the other battles you are fighting... I pray you will feel much better soon. Bronchitis likes to kick Butt and doesn't care to take down names. Much love, hugs and prayers always..........
