Only Nolan...

Only Nolan would even think something like this up. He keeps asking me to buy things for him at the rink. Just a gatorade or just a hotdog starts to get expensive when you are at the rink 6 days a week. I finally told him he has to find some spare time to earn some money. I explained he can shovel the front walk, straighten up the basement, or clean his bathroom. He nods his head and goes to school. He comes home grinning. "Mom," he says, "I figured out another way to earn a little money"... and he lays a freshly pulled tooth in my hand.

Apparently, the 4 bucks he got was well worth his trouble, because the little stinker came home the next day from school... with ANOTHER tooth! Guess I should have bothered to ask him how many loose teeth he has. At this rate, I was better off paying for the gatorade!

  3. That was my delete...sorry about that, Vicky. I'll try again:

Vicky...I am laughing as I type.
Check his mouth. Maybe those aren't HIS teeth! (Just kidding!)
Personnally, I think the child is gifted. Give him a hug for me!
    Smiles,

  4. His mama didn't raise no stoop! :)And yay for ingenuity!

Bo wanted money so bad I think she had nearly all the teeth pulled out of her head by the time she was 6. The Wild Man just lost his last one at 13. Not nearly as motivated by money (too spoiled maybe?!).

  5. Those extra treats do get expensive. It's a good idea that you had a talk with him about earning his treat money...it's never too early to talk to your kids about the value of money.

  6. P.S. Buy hotdogs, make 'em ahead of time, and sell them to him. Do you think that's taking undue advantage? lol

  7. Vicky, that's a very funny story. Teeth seems like a very lucrative business. I wonder if he's telling all his friends at school about it. I imagine him thinking himself very clever :)

  8. Bonnie, Nolan has always had the ability to come up with something straight out of left field! I should know better by now :)

Jackie, due to the big gaping holes where his eye teeth used to be... I'd say they're his!! But I wouldn't put anything past him :)

Robynn, I do buy gatorade on sale and make him take it with.. but on occasion we run out and then I'm a bit stuck. We try to honor healthy eating, so hotdogs aren't usually considered for him... but he still tries to convince us, and on occasion we cave!
