Nothing says summer to me like baseball.

Lots and lots of baseball.

But, between Colton's t-ball games last week (2),

and Nolan's Babe Ruth baseball games last week (2),

and the Moorhead Legion Blues Baseball tournament this weekend,

in which Nolan is the bat boy (5),

we had 9 games of baseball in a matter of a few days.

And do you know how we cope with THAT much baseball... ?

Today, we're going fishing instead!!

Because tomorrow, we go back to golf in the morning,

hockey in the afternoon,

and baseball tomorrow night.

Again.

Really though.

If you think about it?

Could there be any better way to spend our sunny summer days?

I didn't think so!

  1. Morning Vicky!!
Yes I have had soccer coming out of my ears for so many years and they have been some of the best years of my life.:)
Kids learn so much from such sports as do parents.
We parents sit in the warm sun,as well as snow hail storms...because the game, must go on.
I have to say some great boot camp came out of this soccer training my son put himself through.
I could only stand and watch in amazement and sometimes even with tears in my eyes as he struggled to make himself the best he could be.
    Yup.
    Great times those.:)

  2. Hi Vicky! I hope the day fishing was relaxing... It sounds like you all needed a day to 'drown' some worms and have some fun. Your boys are handsome lads. T-bat is such fun. As a Mom of a t-batter (years and years ago) I can still remember the li'l tike hitting the T...again and again...scaring that ball to death. The first time he made contact, it almost scared HIM to death. He just stood there!! I'm sure you've seen others do much the same. Daddy and Mama yell, "Run....run".....and he takes off....who knows which direction....but it didn't matter. He hit the ball. And....they grow up. My son is 33 years old now....and I look forward to watching my grandson play ball one day (if that's what he wants.) Fishing is good! Enjoy your day.
    Smiles,
    Jackie

  3. Boy did you capture a real slice of Americana. I'm sure glad they invented sports or y'all would be bored stiff!! LOL!

  4. You've gotta love baseball to play that much of it.

I think it looks fun. I never been to a live baseball match. I wanted to go to a game when I was in SF but, they weren't playing when I was there. I was looking forward to eating hotdog and watching baseball.

  5. Hmmm... is there wi-fi at the baseball field?

    :)

Tell Nolan he's got a great stink-eye going on there... sure to intimidate the toughest of players!

  7. How inspiring! I don't hear many parents loving that much sports-watching. It is nice to sit and visit and watch them play, isn't it?

BTW, nice to see you again!

  8. Vic, I agree, great discipline is being instilled in what it takes for these kids to belong to sports :) And the parental comraderie is great!

Jackie, the whole fishing trip is a post in itself!! I don't know if "relaxing" is the word for it :) I hope we will have just as many good memories as you do with baseball!!

Robynn, bored isn't the beginning of it... those two don't sit still and not entertain themselves for long, and when kids entertain themselves, we all know how disastrous that can be!! Thank goodness for sports!!

Liss, I sure hope you get the chance to one day go to a real game!! Its a wonderful time and you'll discover the joys of it once you are able to go.

Robin, you are always spot on with your thinking :) I am exhausted, but the boys couldn't be happier!! But it is flying by :)

Gitz, HA!! Why didn't I think of wireless at the ball field? Too bad Nolan's stink-eye, was leveled at ME!!! We told him to save up his attitude for the other team, but I am fairly certain I was telling him no to something!!

ANITA! Awww, so happy to see you show up and surprise me :) Can't wait to hear how you've been and what you have been doing!!

  9. What a great Mom you are. They are the best kind of summer days I think. The grass looks so green. Adorable photos again. I love the one with all the bats and legs. You have a real eye for photography Vicky!
